RATS

We love our rats at Brisbane Pet Headquarters. We often have young males and females but we also rehome older/unwanted rats too. Sometimes we'll even have a little nursery set up for the babies born to surrendered pregnant females.

All of our rats have adoption forms which must be completed before they can join their new family. This way we can make sure we educate everybody on the dynamics of breeding and the importance of socialisation, as well as keep track of where the rats have come from and are going to.  

While we do our best to health check everyone, rats are very prone to respiratory disease and tumours, so a good diet, lots of room to run around and explore, lots of things to stimulate their minds and minimal stress is needed to maintain the health of a pet rat.

Our rats are fed Breeder's Choice Rat and Mouse Food and fresh fruit and vegetables. We also start toilet training them the moment they come into our store and they are handled everyday to ensure they are well socialised.

We stock Breeder’s Choice Rat and Mouse Food, lots of cages, health products, toys, harnesses, bowls, etc. We can clip your rat’s toenails for $5 and/or show you how to do it in future. You can even get your rat hydrobathed on the weekends for $5.
