BIRDS

We specialise in Hand-raised Birds at Brisbane Pet Headquarters because we believe that birds should otherwise be free to fly or in a big aviary, not locked in a cage all the time.

We primarily focus on Budgies, Cockatiels, Quakers, Conures (Green-Cheek or Sun) and Rainbow Lorikeets. We sometimes do Indian Ringnecks and Alexandrines but these birds need experienced handlers so we'd rather order by request. If you're not sure which bird is for you, come on in and handle what we've got so you can see if there is a personality match. Our pet cinnamon green-cheek conures, Bart and Pete, would love to meet you.

We feed all of our birds Vetafarm Bird Pellets and fresh fruit and vegetables. The Vetafarm Bird Pellets are a highly nutritious, complete bird food that is much healthier, cleaner, more convenient and more economical to feed than bird seed (see http://www.youtube.com/user/Vetafarm#p/u/10/-zWTxD8Bcw0). If you adopt one of our birds and wish to stop feeding the pellets then please ask us for advice on how to do this safely.

Our birds are kept in a large aviary with lots of toys, perches and food and water stations. They also have appropriate sleep and awake times and are handled on a regular basis.

We also have a great range of cages and aviaries at great prices, bird food, toys, play gyms, nesting boxes, feed and water bowls and travel cages. Yes, we do sell chicken food (laying mash, laying pellets and chick starter).

This takes the stress off you needing to convert your bird to a more nutritious diet than seed, which can be tricky, and makes for an easier bird to clean up after.

We know where every bird has come from and who it is adopted by so we can keep track of lost birds, illnesses, etc.

3) All our birds are sourced from reputable bird breeders/hand raisers

We don’t buy from just anyone that walks in off the street. We have personally met and selected breeders we like based on the quality, health and personality of their birds.
